What do the Vaginal Tissues Look Like Before and After the FemTouch Treatment?

On the left is a picture of the vaginal tissues before the FemTouch treatment. There is reduced vascularity, consistent with the pale lining of the mucosa, causing the symptoms associated with reduced elasticity.

On the right is a picture of the vaginal tissues after the FemTouch treatment, showing increased vascularity of the vaginal tissues. The microbeams of fractionated CO2 laser triggers collagen in the tissues, resulting in rejuvenation and increased elasticity of the vagina.

What do the Vaginal Tissues Look Like Under the Microscope (Histology)?

In an ex-vivo porcine study, the vaginal mucosa is examined under the microscope after the FemTouch Fractionated CO2 laser treatment.

Histological effect is seen in the vaginal mucosa to a depth of 200 to 500 microns.

The FemTouch laser treatment utilises energy level of 7.5 – 12.5mJ, ensuring the desirable depth of penetration, while ensuring that the deeper fibromuscular layer at a depth of 600 microns remains intact.

Is FemTouch Suitable for Me?

FemTouch CO2 Laser procedures are not suitable for everyone, and that’s why it is essential to have a consultation to have a gynaecologist to assess your personal situation before deciding upon the best treatment approach for you. For example, women who have taken Accutane® (Isotretinoin) within the last 6-12 months, or have a history of keloid formation, may not be suitable for the CO2 Laser Treatments.
